TEMERLOH: Anih Bhd, the East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (ECE1) concession holder, has cleared the air over a viral image showing certain sections of the expressway near Lanchang here being flooded, today.

The company said the picture of a waterlogged dual-carriageway was an old image taken when Km113.3 was struck by floods several years ago.

"We urge all parties to stop sharing the picture as it will only cause confusion and panic among motorists, especially those traveling or planning to use the stretch," it said.

Anih said motorists are advised to check its official Facebook page (Facebook Lebuhraya Pantai Timur) and Twitter handle (@LPTTrafik) for the latest traffic updates.

For any further queries, motorists can contact LPT-Line at 1-700818700 or 09-5479111.

Heavy rain has been lashing several parts of Pahang since last night. Coupled with the viral picture of the waterlogged highway, this had raised concerns on social media.
