KL-KARAK HIGHWAY POSITIVE OF ELECTRONIC TOLL COLLECTION SYSTEM

Kuala Lumpur, 3 September 2015 – With less than 2 weeks to the implementation of 100% Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) system at Gombak & Bentong of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway (KLK), concessionaire ANIH Berhad gears up to ensuring its toll plazas are ready for the big day.

The two infamous Toll Plazas will be fully transformed by 12 noon, 9 September 2015. KLK is among five other concessions to go 100% ETC in support of the government's call to practice a full ETC system within the country.

Director of ANIH Berhad, Nik Fauzi Tan Sri Nik Hussein said, ‘preparations have started since beginning of the year and we are ready to face the challenge. The transformation will chalk up another milestone in the KLK corporate history which is fast tracking its ETC system ahead of schedule’.

ANIH anticipates 106,000 users will enjoy a smart and convenient way to travel to the east coast states via the Gombak and Bentong toll ways. An amount of 37 toll booths have been converted to ETC mode. For users’ convenience, reload lanes are made available at certain lanes and Customer Service Centre or Pusat Khidmat Pelanggan can now be found at both toll ways with upgraded operating hours from 9 to 15 hours, to suit their ETC needs.

In addition, ANIH is offering while stocks last, 30,000 Touch ‘n Go promotional cards at RM5 each. The cards are now available 24 hours at Gombak and Bentong toll plazas. Nik Fauzi added, in terms of traffic management, the RELA officers are now being sited at both locations to monitor traffic conditions approaching the implementation date. This is in addition to the Patrol team that is on standby.
